Dr Sarkiís Shifted to Zhob Jail : Family Concerned Over His Safety
Translated from dailykawish.com (November 9th, 2007)

After many months of imprisonment, Blochistan government has transferred Safdar Sarki, the general secretary of Jeay Sindh Mahaz (JSQM) from Gadani to Zhobh jail. He is under allegation of possession of explosives. Two days ago, he was sent off from Gaddani and after 36 hours of travel he was brought to Zhobh. His advocate Mohammad Khan Shaikh, while speaking with Daily Kawish confirmed his arrival at Zhobb. He further added that the District and Session courts judges of Lasbella had ordered the concerned authorities to arrange for Safdar Sarkiís medical treatment, but authorities made no arrangement whatsoever. He has been sick for last several months of imprisonment, courts felt the necessity and ordered for his medical treatment, but unfortunately there was no action taken on courtsí orders. Instead, he has been secretly transferred to Zhobb jail with malintentions to kill him. While talking to journalist in Liyyari, his advocate Mohammad Khan Sheik further informed that Safdar Sarkiís life is in danger due to denying him of necessary treatment. He is very weak, his shoulders are dysfunctional, he has lost his eyesight, and he cannot even walk.

On the other hand, JSQM president, Bashir Khan Qureshi reacting to the news of Safdarís transfer from Gadani to Zhobh jail said, agencies want to kill Safdar Sarki. He further said, all the cases against him are false, we will protest against the authorities for transferring him from Gaddani to Zhobh. Also, JSQM central organizing committeeís leaders; Siria Qurban Khawar, Riaz Chandio, Zulfiqar Kolachi said, Safdar Sarki is a brave leader of Sindh, government wants to kill him, while keeping him under torture It is also reminded that the case hearing of Safdar Sarki allegedly in possession of illegal arms, ammunition, and explosives was supposed to take place in Hubb court on November 13, which is in doubt due to his transfer to Zhobh jail.
